There's a strange quietness online at the moment, isn't there?
The usual chatter has gone a bit hushed. People seem uncertain — is it okay to share nice things? To do something creative? To look after yourself when the world is heavy? I've been feeling it too. I'm in a sort of limbo myself right now, waiting on a house move that has no date yet, sitting with that low-level unsettled feeling that I suspect many of us know well.

So I've put together a little Art Witch First Aid Kit.
Three free downloads, no strings, no sign-up required. Just some things I made from the heart, for times exactly like this.
But first — let me introduce you to my monsters.
Hello, old friends
Long before Sara Jane Art Magic existed, I used to fill my journals with small, expressive creatures. Rectangle-shaped little beings with wild hair and enormous eyes and very big feelings. They weren't cute exactly — they were honest. Worried. Delighted. Confused. Brave despite themselves.

One of my lovely VIP members (thank you Penny!)asked about them recently, and it got me thinking — maybe now is exactly the right time to dig them back out.
Because sometimes a small, slightly alarmed monster can say what we can't quite put into words.
Brave: A Little Guide to Courage 👑
A long time ago — well before this website existed — I made a little hand-painted zine called Brave. It was a small, scrappy, heartfelt thing. A Little Guide to Courage. I made it for myself as much as anything, during a time when I needed reminding that you can be scared and still keep going.

I've tidied it up a little, added a link to the website, and I want to give it to you. For free. No strings.
If you want to print it booklet style here is the download (don't forget to print double sided - short edge binding)
And because the monsters insisted on coming along too, I'm also sharing my Monster Emotions sheet — a whole crowd of little rectangle creatures showing every feeling from delighted to deeply suspicious. They're available in both colour and black and white (the black and white version is rather good for colouring in, just saying).

There is Magic in Your Hands
While I was digging through the archives, I also found this — a tiny printable zine I made a while back called Own your magic It's a single A4 sheet you fold into a little zine, and it's a quiet reminder that every small thing you do carries magic in it. Making a cup of tea. Stroking your pet. Sending a kind message to a friend. Every word. Every action.

Plus, how to fold your zine...
It felt very right for right now.
(Print on A4, fold in half twice, make one cut — and you have a tiny zine. Folding instructions included.)

Why share all this now?
Honestly? Because it felt right.
Because one of my members asked, and sometimes that's enough of a reason.
Because making things — any human activity, as my slightly bewildered little monster reminds me — is one of the ways we stay connected to ourselves when everything feels uncertain.
And because courage isn't the absence of fear or confusion or not knowing what comes next. It's more like... showing up anyway. Drawing a small monster in your journal. Making a cup of tea. Saying hello to someone you haven't spoken to in a while.
Small acts of brave. Small acts of magic.
If these bring even a little warmth to your day, then good. That's enough.
With love and a slightly chaotic monster or two,
Sara Jane 🖤 sarajaneartmagic.com

P.S. If you want more of this kind of thing — art, witchcraft, creative companionship and the occasional monster — come and join the Art Witch tribe. There's a free tier to get you started. But truly, no pressure. The downloads above are just a gift.
