The Power of Art: How Creativity can Promote Healing and Wellness

I proudly call myself an Art Witch because I use my art magic creativity in mystical ways to help me learn about the world and also about myself. I strive to understand my part in this universe and how this knowledge can also help me heal the fragile broken parts of myself. How we choose to navigate our life on this beautiful planet.

WHAT IS ART MAGIC?

For the past couple of weeks I have had the gloomy grey clouds of depression sitting over me with no chance of a breeze to blow them away. I know the drill, I've been here before, but this time I knew exactly what to do. I was a little late creating my grimoire spread using the energy of Mars because I felt weak and disheartened BUT I knew that if I sat at my desk, book in front of me, paint at the ready, SOMETHING would happen...and it did.

As soon as I picked up the paintbrush and read the words on my notes I realised that MARS energy was just what I needed! I got to work creating and the energy started to seep into me. I could feel the courage trickling in and I smiled, remembering all the times this has happened before when I have been down and miserable. Trusting the power of our intuition and allowing creativity to show you the way is MAGIC. Knowing that if you just sit down and take that first step your intuition will guide you. You may not make something beautiful, but the colours you choose, the words and images that you choose, are what you need right now, FOR YOU.

When I started my little School of Art Magic I didn't really know how powerful it would be for me as well as my wonderful students. It has grown and evolved into something beautiful that I care about deeply. I still have moments of doubt and fear but I trust that I will know what to do when that foul mouthed inner critic pops up!
